Replacing Teeth

Replacing Teeth

Missing one or more of your teeth can be detrimental to your chewing ability. It can also affect your facial structure and increase stress and wear on other teeth. Geographe Bay Dental offers several options to replace missing teeth and avoid any further damage being caused.

A variety of different types of dentures are available. Depending on your situation and need the dentists at Geographe Bay Dental will advise which type would be best suited to you.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium to form a post that is inserted into the jawbone to replace missing natural teeth. Over time the post integrates with the bone to form a solid foundation for an artificial tooth to be attached.

Dental implants:

Root canal or endodontic treatment is a process whereby infected or dead tissue is removed from the inside of the tooth or root, allowing a tooth to be preserved.

A tooth’s nerve can become infected or inflamed if:

  • Help prevent bone loss in the jaw
  • Help prevent the formation of hollowed or collapsed cheeks
  • May prevent gum recession
  • Are a permanent option instead of dentures

Any adult who is missing one or more teeth due to injury, disease or tooth decay may be suitable for dental implants.
